Introductions:
The session will begin with participant introductions highlighting their
research interests and purpose for attending the session

8:15-8:35 AM
|
Report on the
work completed since the previous RUME working group sessions: the ongoing
plan for continued submission of research commentaries to journals and other
outlets; the results of various grant applications that have been submitted
(e.g. IES, NSF) related to the working group research agenda
|
8:35-9:15 AM
|
Discuss and
agree on what the goals of the current working group session should be. There
are four possible goals to discuss: developing collaborative research and/or
grant proposals among researchers of similar interests; preparing a
conference or symposia on community college mathematics education; advancing
a special issue of a research journal focused on community college
mathematics education; formulating “information statements” about the nature
of conducting research at community colleges). The Beyond Crossroads Project may also be
discussed.
